Sell Your Cottage Grove Home With a Neighbor Who Knows the Market

Sell your Minnesota home with a clear plan for pricing, preparation, marketing, and the offer that nets you the most.

Selling your Cottage Grove home

I live in Cottage Grove, so when I price a home here I am pricing in my own community. I'm Lesley, a REALTOR® with Bridge Realty.

How do I sell my home in Cottage Grove for the best price? Price it against the right competition. A 1960s rambler in Thompson Grove competes with other ramblers, not with new construction in Eastbrooke or Ravine Crossing. Getting that comparison right is the first step to a strong offer.

Your competition depends on what you own

  • If you own an older rambler or split-level, buyers will compare it with similar homes nearby and ask about the roof, furnace, windows, and electrical. Service records and recent updates help, and so does a clean, bright presentation.
  • If you own a newer home, your competition includes the builders still selling new ones. We highlight what a buyer gets from you that a builder charges extra for: a finished yard, window coverings, a deck, a finished basement.
  • If your lot backs to the ravine, a park, or open space, that is worth showing clearly in the photos and the description.

Cottage Grove

What selling your home looks like in Cottage Grove

Cottage Grove is a river city in southern Washington County, about 10 miles south of St. Paul, with 1960s ranch homes, newer neighborhoods, and 515 acres of ravine parkland.

Cottage Grove sits on the Mississippi River along Highway 61. It is where I live, and I know its neighborhoods street by street.

The homes
Ranch-style and split-level homes from the late 1950s through the 1970s, newer subdivisions, townhomes, and new construction in neighborhoods such as Eastbrooke, Hawthorne, and Ravine Crossing.
Schools people ask about
South Washington County Schools serves the city. Confirm the schools for any address with the district.
Getting around
Highway 61, which shares the road with Highway 10 here, runs north to Interstate 494 and St. Paul.
Nearby
More than 1,300 acres of public parkland and about 45 miles of trails, including Hamlet Park and Highland Park.
The trade-off
No interstate runs through the city, so the daily drive depends on Highway 61.
