Investing in Bloomington

Our office is in Bloomington. I'm Lesley, a REALTOR® with Bridge Realty, and we help investors use what the city already requires of sellers.

What is useful for an investor to know in Bloomington? Sellers must complete a Time-of-Sale housing inspection. That report tells you about the property's condition before you spend money on your own inspection, though it does not replace one.

Location and likely tenants

East Bloomington is closest to the airport, the Mall of America, and the Blue Line light rail. West Bloomington is mostly residential, near Hyland Lake Park Reserve. Think about who will rent the home and what they will want nearby.

Before you offer

Ask the City of Bloomington what it requires to rent out a home, including any license, inspection, and fees, before you make an offer. If the property is a condominium or townhouse, read the association's rental rules as well.

The numbers to run on any rental are on our investment property page. For more on the city, see our Bloomington page and buying a home in Bloomington. If you own a rental here and want to sell, see what it is worth.

We are not financial or tax advisors, so review your plan with your accountant. Then send us a message or call (651) 661-4770.
