Moving to Bloomington

Our office is in Bloomington, and it is a practical landing place for people who travel for work. I'm Lesley, a REALTOR® with Bridge Realty.

What is Bloomington like? It is a large, fully built city on the north bank of the Minnesota River, 10 miles south of downtown Minneapolis. It is next to the airport, home to the Mall of America, and has 97 parks and green spaces.

East side or west side?

Interstate 35W divides the city. West Bloomington is mostly residential, near Hyland Lake Park Reserve, Bush Lake, and Normandale Lake. East Bloomington has more business and retail, along with neighborhoods that are closest to the airport and the Blue Line light rail.

If a home is near the airport, we visit at different times of day and tell you what we hear, since you cannot stand in the yard yourself.

Getting around without guesswork

Interstate 494 runs across the north side, Interstate 35W runs north to Minneapolis, and the Blue Line connects the Mall of America to the airport and downtown. Most homes here are existing homes, so the inspection is an important step.

The steps for buying from a distance are on our relocating to Minnesota page. More about the city is on our Bloomington page, and the purchase itself is covered in buying a home in Bloomington.
