Buying a Bloomington Home With a VA Loan

Use the home loan benefit you earned, with a clear plan for your VA purchase in Minnesota.

Using your VA benefit in Bloomington

Our office is in Bloomington, a short drive from the airport and the VA medical center in Minneapolis. I'm Lesley, a REALTOR® with Bridge Realty.

Does Bloomington's city inspection help a VA buyer? Yes. Sellers must complete a Time-of-Sale housing inspection, so condition issues are often identified before you offer. That lowers the chance of a surprise at the VA appraisal.

Three reviews of one house

The city's inspection, the VA appraisal, and your own home inspection each look at different things. We explain what each report means and what, if anything, the seller should fix.

East or west

East Bloomington is closest to the airport and the Blue Line light rail. West Bloomington is mostly residential. We tour both if you are undecided.

How the VA loan works, step by step, is on our VA and military buyers page. See also buying a home in Bloomington, our Bloomington page, and, if you are moving on orders, relocating to Bloomington.

Your lender confirms your eligibility and your numbers. When you are ready, send us a message or call (651) 661-4770.

A large, fully built city, so most homes are existing homes. The city requires a Time-of-Sale housing inspection when a home is sold.
Getting around
Interstate 494 runs across the north side and Interstate 35W runs north to Minneapolis. The Blue Line light rail connects the Mall of America to the airport and downtown Minneapolis.
Nearby
The Mall of America, the airport, Hyland Lake Park Reserve, Bush Lake, Normandale Lake, and 97 parks and green spaces.
The trade-off
Some homes are near the airport, so visit at different times of day to hear the flight paths.
