A city with room, and new homes
Lakeville was founded in 1855 and became a city in 1967. It covers more than 38 square miles, and it has kept building as the metro area has grown south.
- Newer neighborhoods and new construction are common here. When you tour a model home, bring us with you from the first visit, because the sales consultant represents the builder. We review the contract, the upgrades, and the timeline on your behalf.
- Homes near Lake Marion and Orchard Lake.
- The historic downtown, the original town center, with older homes on nearby streets.
The trade-off to weigh is distance. Lakeville gives you more space, and it is farther from both downtowns than the closer suburbs. We look at your real commute before you decide.
Parks and lakes
- Ritter Farm Park. 340 acres with more than nine miles of trails for hiking and cross-country skiing.
- Antlers Park. A park on Lake Marion with a swimming beach, volleyball courts, and picnic shelters. It stands on the site of an amusement park that opened in 1910.
- Lake Marion Greenway. A regional trail planned to run about 20 miles, linking Lake Marion, Ritter Farm Park, and downtown Lakeville.
On the south side, Airlake Industrial Park covers about 1,500 acres and is home to roughly 200 companies, next to Airlake Airport.
