A young city with room to choose
Ramsey was settled in 1850 and did not incorporate as a city until 1974, so most of what you see was built in the decades since. Because the city covers so much ground, the choices are wide:
- Homes on larger lots, some with a private well and septic system. We have both inspected before you buy.
- Newer neighborhoods and townhomes, including those around The COR, where homes, shops, and a park sit within walking distance of each other.
- New construction. Bring us with you to the model home from your first visit, because the sales consultant represents the builder.

Rivers, parks, and The COR
- The COR and The Draw. Ramsey's town center, with a park that has a performance amphitheater, trails, and water features.
- Rum River Central Regional Park. A 400-acre county park with paved trails, canoe and kayak launches, and picnic areas.
- Mississippi West Regional Park. Wooded trails and boat access on the Mississippi.
- City parks. Central Park and Elmcrest Park, with courts, fields, and picnic shelters.
Commute and schools
The commute. Highway 10, which runs with Highway 169 through Ramsey, is the main route toward Minneapolis, and Highway 47 runs north and south. One recent change to know about: the Northstar commuter rail station at The COR closed in early 2026, and the service was replaced by bus. If you planned to commute by train, we should talk through your options.
Schools. Two districts serve Ramsey: Anoka-Hennepin Schools and Elk River Area Schools. The district depends on the address, so confirm it for any specific home.
